On Sept. 15th was Alyx's 1st birthday and we had a party in Nyles Mom's huge back yard. We had a couple of kiddie pools, a slip n' slide, and a water/ball toy thing, which Alyx loved all of them. Lots of cousins, aunts and uncles, and other family members came and we appreciate them all for coming. Alyx absolutely loves all her toys and outfits and presents she got. The party was good and Alyx really enjoyed it except the part when we were trying to sing happy birthday to her and she grabbed the lit candle, which burned her hand. It made me feel terrible but then she got happier again and enjoyed opening her presents. She was a little scared about getting the cake after that ordeal at first but then her cousin Vance showed her how to wreck the cake and get into it haha. After that she sat there and just ate and ate her cake, we actually had to take it away from her so she wouldn't get sick. We thank everyone for coming and helping out and for everything they did to make Alyx's birthday great. Especially, Camie for making the cupcake cake and taking the pictures and giving Alyx her cute summer dress she was wearing. Mom and Dad, for making the delicious frosted cookies and helping set up for the party and giving the birthday swimsuit to Alyx and Nyles' mom and dad for letting us use the backyard and supplying half the meat and buns.
